Douglass Taft Davidoff
Editorial Content, Public Relations, and Research in Bridgeport, Connecticut
ABOUT ME –Call me a New Englander. Or call me a Hoosier, a Chicagoan, a Tar Heel, or a New Yorker. I’m all of those.
You can also just call me “Doug."
I was born in New York City and raised from age two in Westport, Connecticut. I have also lived in Indianapolis, Boston, Chicago, the Research Triangle of North Carolina, and briefly in Vermont.
CAPABILITIES –As a public relations and editorial consultant, I’ve worked for service and manufacturing businesses as well as for not-for-profits. I’ve written speeches, business proposals, and a small book. I've handled federal and state legislative relations, run news conferences, exhibited at trade show booths, and organized professional meetings and conferences. I have also worked for political candidates and campaigns.
As a journalist, I worked for The Westport (Conn.) News, The Raleigh (N.C.) Times, and The Indianapolis News.
MORE BACKGROUND –I am a father, a grandfather, and an amateur historian. I read, sail, patronize museums, and wander through historic sites. I thrive in cities but I’m also at home in rural New England towns. My favorite vacation places are Vermont, Cape Cod, and the Florida Keys. I miss my onetime Hoosier home from the Southern Indiana hills to the Lake Michigan dunes.
BLOGS –I write often in my blogs. It’s a great way to sample how I write!
